I am a graduate student in the Master's of Library and Information Science program at the University of Washington. This LiveJournal is part of an Independent Study project I am doing on readers' advisory, in the last term before I graduate. The purpose of the project is to learn more about readers' advisory skills and techniques, expand my knowledge of books in a variety of common readers' advisory genres (non-fiction, biography, western, romance, realistic fiction, mystery, and science fiction/fantasy), and create a readers' advisory resource on the Web. In this LJ, I am collecting brief plot summaries or reviews of books I read for this project. Readers may post comments regarding what they thought of the books or about related books that may be of interest. I hope to keep this LJ going past the end of this project, as a reference resource for myself.
